After 23 played minutes Quenumá got a freekick which was hit by Bernardino Calixto. Erasmo Ibon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Blas Abalos having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fidel Jusepe couldn't finish the play. Blas Abalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Jusepe, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Jesus Montrelle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Eduardo Corderall made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in aneador's zone, Jesus Montrelle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Corderall came out of the goal and Jesus Montrelle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ramon Piarres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Eduardo Corderall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fidel Jusepe was the one to do the kick off.
