Eleuterio Frederico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Pablo Tuste made the kick off in the second half. Miguel Caneo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Deportivo Carlos Bilardo defense, Martin Arce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Celedonio Bixintxo. The Deportivo Carlos Bilardo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Celedonio Bixintxo should have stopped the shot. When Martin Arce came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Lechuzas CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martin Arce couldn't finish the play. After having played for 72 minutes, Clemente Tiniebra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Carlos Bilardo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clemente Tiniebra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute Pablo Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Frederico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Martin Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Miguel Caneo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Lechuzas CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Caneo couldn't finish the play. After 77 played minutes Deportivo Carlos Bilardo got a freekick which was hit by Siro Ubelteso. Bonifacio Tirso kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Celedonio Bixintxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliciano Ikatz in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Martin Arce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celestino Cesaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lechuzas CF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
