Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aurelio Urres short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Jaime Nisio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. CUBA LIBRE's Cesar Ler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Oihan in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Aurelio Urre managed to get in a good position for a shot. CUBA LIBRE's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurelio Urre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Nisio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Nisio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Urre in the 29th minute. Cesar Ler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Bilbo in the 31st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in CUBA LIBRE's zone, Severino Claude stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesar Ler came out of the goal and Severino Claude tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Eagles F.C's Jaime Nisio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Urre in the 59th minute of play. Artemio Francho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vladimiro Oihan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Cesar Ler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vladimiro Oihan in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cesar Ler saved CUBA LIBRE from getting behind. In the 81st minute Vladimiro Oihan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Ler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Urre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eagles F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
