An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulises Mero in the 34th minute of play forced RC Futbol's goalkeeper Alfonso Handi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Handi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulises Mero, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. When Raul Chaime came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Chaime couldn't finish the play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victoriano Enol stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ulises Mero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Alfonso Handi made a huge save. In the 58th minute, Arsenio Jerano made a precise shot to the right of Nicanor Nayely. River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 63 played minutes RC Futbol got a freekick which was hit by Teo Caradaro. Ulises Mero charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of RC Futbol booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulises Mero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Fabio Eneko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RC Futbol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabio Eneko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ulises Mero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. River Plate's Ulises Mero got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Alvaro Peru hit a great ball. Nicanor Nayely came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by RC Futbol's Fabio Eneko. But to his dismay, Fabio Eneko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.
