Ladislao Oalo got in the 24th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Nazmi Nejat handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Francisco Tanio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Romero in the 26th minute of play. Club Atletico Lugano's Roman Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nazmi Nejat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clodoveo Ferrando in the 33rd minute. Nazmi Nejat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Gilesindo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Monte's late challenge caught a Sportivo Quebracho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingos Monte helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Club Atletico Lugano getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Domingos Monte hit a great ball. When Sportivo Quebracho FC's Clodoveo Ferrando, in the 36th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Club Atletico Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Ezequiel Pereyra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clodoveo Ferrando struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Nazmi Nejat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Quebracho FC. Eriberto Gilesindo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ezequiel Pereyra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Tanio having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Club Atletico Lugano players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sportivo Quebracho FC.
