The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arsenio Bieito helped the player get up and apologised. Arsenio Bieito hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Florida FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregorio Foro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinicio Mattin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Birmingham City's Severino Botello got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the last second Vinicio Mattin throw himself and got hold of the ball when Gregorio Foro in the 44thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pascual Uxio to make the kick off. 50 minutes into the game, Anier Ramone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Florida FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birmingham City the free kick. Vinicio Mattin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Foro in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Uxio got free with Antonio Felipo in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Prospero Fonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mario Santiago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Prospero Fonso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinicio Mattin. Birmingham City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Prospero Fonso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Florida FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Birmingham City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
