Vinicio Mattin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Cordairo in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Birmingham City's goalkeeper Vinicio Mattin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Omar Abajas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Uxio in the 34th minute of play forced Deportivo Emilia - Fausto's goalkeeper Marco Cefero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pascual Uxio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 minutes, Severo Cordairo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Emilia - Fausto and the Birmingham City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 73 minutes of play, Birmingham City's Mario Santiago made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Cefero was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 79 played minutes Mario Santiago rounded Deportivo Emilia - Fausto's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-4. In the 87th minute, Omar Abajas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vinicio Mattin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Marco Cefero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mario Santiago in the 93rd minute. When the match was over Birmingham City could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Deportivo Emilia - Fausto throughout the match.
