Spectators: 7179 (Terracing: 5386, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 142) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cecilio Txomin started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alonzo Maldonado got free with Daniel Quintyn in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Quintyn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Txomin, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Sportivo Backyardigans's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Berart came free, but Marcial Mino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sportivo Backyardigans's Cecilio Txomin suffered a sore thigh after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. With a little luck, Espinillo AFC's Daniel Quintyn got control of the ball when Alonzo Maldonado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alonzo Maldonado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo Mero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Marcial Mino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Cornelio Osorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Espinillo AFC's Hector Xabier couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 26th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sportivo Backyardigans. Sportivo Backyardigans's Marcial Mino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Mero in the 29th minute of play. Ismael Berart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Delmar Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Daniel Quintyn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Quintyn made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Alonzo Maldonado sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 37 minutes, Cornelio Osorio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sportivo Backyardigans's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cornelio Osorio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcial Mino came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Espinillo AFC's Ismael Berart. But to his dismay, Ismael Berart quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ismael Berart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Berart in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcial Mino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ismael Berart made the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Leonardo Mero notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Sportivo Backyardigans's Marcial Mino. Marcial Mino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cornelio Osorio hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After having played for 69 minutes, Ismael Berart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinillo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Berart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmar Cruz couldn't finish the play. Alonzo Maldonado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Quintyn having to interfere. When Alonzo Maldonado came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Sportivo Backyardigans fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alonzo Maldonado couldn't finish the play. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Leonardo Mero got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 92nd match minute, Espinillo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amador Benino to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Sportivo Backyardigans's zone, Leonardo Mero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Mino came out of the goal and Leonardo Mero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Sportivo Backyardigans supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Espinillo AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Espinillo AFC.
