The audience was convinced that Nereo Buinton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carolo Birila was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Dario Lop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Abar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dario Lop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Sendoa in the 21st minute of play. Carolo Birila made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nereo Buinton in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Handi in the 28th minute of play forced Monasterio AFC's goalkeeper Dario Lop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Marcial Casado fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monasterio AFC's protests and gave Marcial Casado a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes Monasterio AFC got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Casado. Dario Lop stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Handi's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nereo Buinton was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Nereo Buinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carolo Birila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacobo Abar hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th minute of the match, Rodrigo Handi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dario Lop saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 59 played minutes Potrero FC got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Stephen. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Honorato Jakue during the 60th minute. When Antonio Olayo came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Monasterio AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Olayo couldn't finish the play. Nicanor Inge kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Antonio Olayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monasterio AFC's Dario Lop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Handi in the 94th minute of play.
