Ivan Dolfo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Calvin Masters made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Dolfo got free with Calvin Masters in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the match, Sebastian Hurko notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of BETIANA FC's Calvin Masters. Calvin Masters was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Calvin Masters made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Sebastian Hurko sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Az-Cerezo Osaka's Ginés Rosario got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 33rd minute Ginés Rosario suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Angel Quiroga fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BETIANA FC's protests and gave Angel Quiroga a yellow card for diving instead. Az-Cerezo Osaka's Uriel Rio was substituted for Ginés Rosario. Angel Quiroga hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Sebastian Hurko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Calvin Masters made a huge save. Sebastian Hurko who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Calvin Masters when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by BETIANA FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Denis Nesor was slow to take the kick. During this time Az-Cerezo Osaka's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Evaristo Etxepare heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ivan Dolfo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Calvin Masters made a huge save. During the 44th minute of the match Angel Quiroga completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Angel Quiroga a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 45 played minutes BETIANA FC got a freekick which was hit by Angel Quiroga. In the 47th minute, Beto Alonso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Calvin Masters. The goal made the score 4-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Hurko was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind BETIANA FC's goalkeeper Calvin Masters, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Hurko in the 55th minute of play forced BETIANA FC's goalkeeper Calvin Masters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calvin Masters didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Hurko went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Victoro during the 57th minute. Sebastian Hurko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calvin Masters having to interfere. Calvin Masters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Dolfo in the 87th minute of play. Beto Alonso hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute Ivan Dolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calvin Masters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tobias Milio fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BETIANA FC's protests and gave Tobias Milio a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes BETIANA FC got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Milio. BETIANA FC's Efrain Victoro got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Az-Cerezo Osaka were the better team. Az-Cerezo Osaka's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
