The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fidel Nevada showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 40th minute, Carlos Darien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Monroe AFC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Carlos Darien hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the match, Monroe AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Vermudo came free, but Fidel Nevada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Saturnino Ondino made the kick off in the second half.
