Damian Sendoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Cuartio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Bernal's late challenge caught a Godoy Cruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Julian Bernal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to DRJ getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Julian Bernal hit a great ball. DRJ's Damian Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Luken in the 12th minute of play. When Julian Bernal was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 15 minutes had been played. In the 15th minute, Julian Bernal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Sansone struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Damian Sendoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godoy Cruz. Damian Sendoa was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Isaias Luken capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Isaias Luken really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in DRJ's zone, Evaristo Chesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Sendoa came out of the goal and Evaristo Chesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, Isaias Luken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Godoy Cruz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.

After 67 played minutes DRJ got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Felipo. After a rather tough play, DRJ's Paulino Felipo got a free kick in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Chesus in the 71st minute of play forced DRJ's goalkeeper Damian Sendoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Paulino Felipo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulino Felipo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute, Gaspar Cuartio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filiberto Perfecto's late challenge caught a Godoy Cruz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filiberto Perfecto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Godoy Cruz booed when DRJ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiberto Perfecto didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Luken in the 83rd minute of play forced DRJ's goalkeeper Damian Sendoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Godoy Cruz's Evaristo Chesus got a free kick in the 84th minute. When Isidro Abadie got free in front of the goal in the 85th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Sebastian Raymundo was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Isidro Abadie took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastian Raymundo. Sebastian Raymundo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-3. Evaristo Chesus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Godoy Cruz players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
