The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Paulito booed when Kaizer Chiefs F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Jerano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute of the match Kaizer Chiefs F.C got a corner. Paulito's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Salvador Deunoro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Kaizer Chiefs F.C's Salvador Deunoro to fire away a dangerous shot which Ovidio Corderro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tadeo Lesardo kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Cristian Blasco charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Blasco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristian Blasco hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Teodosio Erroman struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Benicio Weterio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulito. Paulito's Ovidio Corderro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Ekain in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Salvador Deunoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovidio Corderro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Jokin, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Cristian Blasco hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Atilano Matxin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benicio Weterio having to make a save. Przemyslaw Kolbe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Benicio Weterio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Volkan Akdoğan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paulito's supporters rose to their feet, but Volkan Akdoğan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benicio Weterio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kaizer Chiefs F.C's Benicio Weterio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Kaizer Chiefs F.C from getting a goal against them. If Przemyslaw Kolbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Svartengren got free with Benicio Weterio in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Paulito getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Teodosio Erroman hit a great ball. Kaizer Chiefs F.C's Epifanio Pasqual managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tadeo Lesardo in the 39 minute of the game. Teodosio Erroman struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Benicio Weterio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paulito. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Erroman got free with Benicio Weterio in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Salvador Deunoro kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Teodosio Erroman put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benicio Weterio. Salvador Deunoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodosio Erroman in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benicio Weterio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 63 minutes Kaizer Chiefs F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Atilano Matxin who took care of the corner kick. Benicio Weterio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Svartengren, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Volkan Akdoğan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hector Jerano during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 68 played minutes Kaizer Chiefs F.C got a freekick which was hit by Hector Jerano. It was beautiful to see Paulito's Atilano Matxin in action when he in the 69th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 72nd match minute, Kaizer Chiefs F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Phelipe to maneuver through the defense. Benicio Weterio came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Paulito's Przemyslaw Kolbe. But to his dismay, Przemyslaw Kolbe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The audience was convinced that Teodosio Erroman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benicio Weterio was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 88th minute Teodosio Erroman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Weterio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teofilo Jokin during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Teofilo Jokin hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Kaizer Chiefs F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Przemyslaw Kolbe came free, but Benicio Weterio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
