An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Ospetsu in the 18th minute of play forced El Cheto's goalkeeper Uriel Poz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Donostia in the 20th minute of play. RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save RIVER PLATE from getting a goal against them. RIVER PLATE's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Paolo Rossi scored to the left of an out of position Isaias Lugo, making the score, 1-0. After 25 minutes, Favila Llinares made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Favila Llinares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Isaias Lugo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as El Cheto's Favila Llinares slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Isaias Lugo. That made the score 3-0 after 34 minutes of play. El Cheto's Uriel Poz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ambrosio Firman in the 38th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hilario Silbestre during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Hilario Silbestre hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Isaias Lugo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paolo Rossi. 48 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Donostia came free, but Isaias Lugo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ambrosio Firman to make the kick off. Favila Llinares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Marciano Oliverio hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Isaias Lugo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Favila Llinares in the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, El Cheto's Teodoro Lano got a free kick in the 58th minute. Uriel Poz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. If Favila Llinares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Santos Ospetsu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Uriel Poz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. With a little luck, El Cheto's Uriel Poz got control of the ball when Santos Ospetsu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Isaias Lugo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
