Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Juan Lapurdi started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Juan Lapurdi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covello's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Lapurdi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaias Lugo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Everardo Ursino kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Juan Lapurdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Isaias Lugo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Juan Lapurdi notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo. Isaias Lugo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan Lapurdi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Isaias Lugo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fabricio Edur. Zeledon Bonadona kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Covello's zone, Santos Ospetsu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Rafe came out of the goal and Santos Ospetsu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 played minutes, Covello's Everardo Ursino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isaias Lugo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Covello reached it. 36 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Isaias Lugo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Lapurdi. When Juan Lapurdi in the 38th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Isaias Lugo kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 4-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. In the 43rd minute, Santos Ospetsu made a precise shot to the right of Ramon Rafe. Covello's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. After 47 played minutes RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Santos Ospetsu.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ambrosio Firman made a kick off. Damian Mikeldi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 53 minutes, Juan Lapurdi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Covello's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Lapurdi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57thth minute of the game Juan Lapurdi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Lapurdi in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaias Lugo saved RIVER PLATE from getting behind. Everardo Ursino took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isaias Lugo. Isaias Lugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. When Zeledon Bonadona came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Covello fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeledon Bonadona couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Romelio during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in RIVER PLATE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! Isaias Lugo went to the wrong direction when Damian Mikeldi was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Isaias Lugo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Lapurdi's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. If Everardo Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan Lapurdi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Lapurdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Bonadona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santos Ospetsu was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Damian Mikeldi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Venancio Nisio's late challenge caught a Covello's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Venancio Nisio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Nisio to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Lapurdi in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaias Lugo saved RIVER PLATE from getting behind. Bonifacio Cordarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everardo Ursino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90thth minute of the game Juan Lapurdi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIVER PLATE's Isaias Lugo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Lapurdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Everardo Ursino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 97 minutes of play, Covello's Juan Lapurdi made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Isaias Lugo was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Covello players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
