Emilio Burutzagi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Bermudez in the 4th minute of the match. Joaquin Bermudez succeeded in the game's 6th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Wincent Zajonc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Asur, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Bermudez in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Burutzagi saved Egaña from getting behind. After 31 played minutes Egaña got a freekick which was hit by Severo Asur. After 32 played minutes Melincué got a freekick which was hit by Siro Jaume. Aurelio Gilesindo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelio Gilesindo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, Melincué was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Gilesindo to maneuver through the defense. Edgard Hermon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wincent Zajonc. Melincué's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. During the 39th minute of the match Aurelio Gilesindo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aurelio Gilesindo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Melincué getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Aurelio Gilesindo hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Edgard Hermon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wincent Zajonc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Severo Asur made the kick off in the second half. Emilio Burutzagi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Bingen, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Alejandro Estebanos short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Wincent Zajonc to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Teofilo Suero hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Siro Jaume fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Burutzagi having to interfere. Hector Libertad was slow to take the kick. During this time Melincué's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Siro Jaume heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 84th play minutes Amado Gorbea shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Emilio Burutzagi and just under the crossbar into goal. 89 minutes into the match, Melincué's goalkeeper Wincent Zajonc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alejandro Estebano. Siro Jaume received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Emilio Burutzagi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Melincué players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
