Legendarios's attentive Basilio Justin managed to snatch the ball when Gervasio Dominic made a throw-in in the 3rd minute of the game. If Zeledon Mateo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Duraznito's zone, Arturo Lazcano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Quiroga came out of the goal and Arturo Lazcano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Duraznito:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Legendarios:s goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Zeledon Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legendarios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Mateo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 played minutes Duraznito got a freekick which was hit by Wieslaw Ewertowski. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Zeledon Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legendarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Mateo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victoriano Quiroga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zeledon Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Victoriano Quiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Duraznito's zone, Zeledon Mateo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victoriano Quiroga came out of the goal and Zeledon Mateo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Legendarios's Leon Arotza suffered a concussion after 37 minutes and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristobal Raymond during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Duraznito's Cristobal Raymond got a free kick in the 38th minute. Andrzej Majewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Urbano Aguilera in the 43rd minute. Zeledon Mateo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arturo Lazcano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Victoriano Quiroga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Legendarios were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Urbano Aguilera to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Duraznito's Cristobal Raymond nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrzej Majewski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After having played for 67 minutes, Zeledon Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legendarios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Mateo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Duraznito getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Kaare Carlberg hit a great ball. Zeledon Mateo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zeledon Mateo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Quiroga having to interfere. Duraznito made a substitution. Nestor Guifre replaced Elpidio Etxeberri. The throw-in from Wieslaw Ewertowski in the 77th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Legendarios's Basilio Justin. 78 minutes into the match, Duraznito's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Mateo came free, but Victoriano Quiroga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Legendarios's Arturo Lazcano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Victoriano Quiroga. Victoriano Quiroga yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Duraznito's Victoriano Quiroga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Mateo in the 84th minute of play. Andrzej Majewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Aguilera, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After some careless play in the Legendarios defense, Cristobal Raymond kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrzej Majewski. The Legendarios fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrzej Majewski should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute Cristobal Raymond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrzej Majewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrzej Majewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristobal Raymond in the 94th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Aguilera in the 96th minute of play forced Legendarios's goalkeeper Andrzej Majewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Legendarios supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Legendarios would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
