When Cornelio Piorno came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Hongo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelio Piorno couldn't finish the play. Isaac Clis struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Paulino Berriotxoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hongo FC. Hector Hodei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 31st minute Jorge Porfiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Hodei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jorge Porfiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hector Hodei was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Benigno Ishmael might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hector Hodei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulino Berriotxoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximo Aimar in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Elordi AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximo Aimar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes Elordi AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Belarmo. In the 59th minute, Clemente Esquipula sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Elordi AFC's Paulino Berriotxoa didn't even have to move. Ceferino Moise charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
