The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Corrientes's Anibal Jaunzuria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Firmin in the 9th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Corrientes's Celso Etor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Maximo Hechter. Maximo Hechter yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 1-3 became the score in the 17th minute when Baldomero Seber elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 21st minute, Erasmo Argenis made a precise shot to the right of Maximo Hechter. Chamacos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomero Seber in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anibal Jaunzuria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Corrientes's Anibal Jaunzuria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Fanuco in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Chamacos's goalkeeper Maximo Hechter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Elizardo. Herminio Firmin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anibal Jaunzuria having to make a save. Erasmo Argenis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Maximo Hechter made a huge save. In the 38th minute Hermengildo Sarracino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Jaunzuria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herminio Firmin was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Baldomero Seber made a precise shot to the right of Anibal Jaunzuria. Corrientes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. Baldomero Seber did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-6 to the left of a surprised Anibal Jaunzuria 56 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Corrientes's zone, Baldomero Seber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Jaunzuria came out of the goal and Baldomero Seber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Firmin in the 61st minute of play forced Corrientes's goalkeeper Anibal Jaunzuria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 minutes of play, Corrientes's Erasmo Argenis made it 3-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maximo Hechter was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Baldomero Seber came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Chamacos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baldomero Seber couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, Erasmo Argenis notched a goal, 4-6, to the right of Chamacos's Maximo Hechter. Maximo Hechter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 73rd minute, Hermengildo Sarracino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Anibal Jaunzuria. The goal made the score 4-7. 77 minutes into the match, Corrientes's goalkeeper Anibal Jaunzuria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Efrain Frances. Dario Elizardo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Firmin got free with Anibal Jaunzuria in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Herminio Firmin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Jaunzuria having to interfere. Herminio Firmin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Anibal Jaunzuria made a huge save. Anibal Jaunzuria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Seber in the 87th minute of play. After 91 minutes, Froilan Bilintx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chamacos and the Corrientes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Chamacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Bilintx to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Seber in the 93rd minute of play forced Corrientes's goalkeeper Anibal Jaunzuria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corrientes's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Herminio Firmin scored to the left of an out of position Anibal Jaunzuria, making the score, 4-8. Chamacos's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
