Thanks to some nice moves Cleto Lauaxeta could shoot a difficult shot in the 14th minute, which Lino Opilano however easily saved by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Mataderos del Abuelo's zone, Florentino Tonete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Salvadore came out of the goal and Florentino Tonete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Mataderos del Abuelo's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Tonete came free, but Mauro Salvadore reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lino Opilano made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Cleto Lauaxeta sent off a good shot on target. Mauro Salvadore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliberto Estebano in the 25th minute of the match. Mauro Salvadore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliberto Estebano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cirilo Elia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lino Opilano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. The referee ignored Mataderos del Abuelo's protests and gave Cleto Lauaxeta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cuipán booed when Mataderos del Abuelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cleto Lauaxeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Elia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Opilano having to interfere. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Mauro Salvadore. Mataderos del Abuelo's Mauro Salvadore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Mataderos del Abuelo from getting a goal against them. Feliberto Estebano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mauro Salvadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 95th minute of the match Cleto Lauaxeta completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cleto Lauaxeta a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 96 played minutes Mataderos del Abuelo got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Lauaxeta. The Cuipán supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cuipán would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
