In the 17th minute, San Agustín's Anselmo Seguinus dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. With his leg Eduardo Ekialde managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when San Agustín's Arturo Cresitobalo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Seguinus in the 24th minute of play forced Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's goalkeeper Eduardo Ekialde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gimnasia y Esgrima LP getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Cecilio Tadzio hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Barros got free with Eduardo Ekialde in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gimnasia y Esgrima LP's Arnoldo Kaiet got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the game, Anselmo Seguinus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eduardo Ekialde was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anselmo Seguinus showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 41 minute of play. Eduardo Ekialde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Gamus in the 46th minute of the match.
