Evelio Ikatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Despot Hodak in the 26th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Carbonero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Nofre to maneuver through the defense. When Javier Demario came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Atlético Río Luján fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Javier Demario couldn't finish the play. Atlético Río Luján's Evelio Ikatz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Despot Hodak in the 42nd minute of play. The supporters of Carbonero FC booed when Atlético Río Luján was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Oihan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Atlético Río Luján's Jerry Hellström got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute of the match Alberto Johans shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evelio Ikatz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Despot Hodak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carbonero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Despot Hodak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Evelio Ikatz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Despot Hodak made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Despot Hodak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carbonero FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Despot Hodak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gabriel Batistuta in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luiz Paiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Despot Hodak fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carbonero FC's protests and gave Despot Hodak a yellow card for diving instead. After 64 played minutes Carbonero FC got a freekick which was hit by Despot Hodak. When Javier Demario came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Atlético Río Luján fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Javier Demario couldn't finish the play. Javier Demario ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Atlético Río Luján's Javier Demario to fire away a dangerous shot which André Luiz Paiva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Herman Mossberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Luiz Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 87 minutes into the game, Guadalupe Bolden recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Evelio Ikatz. Guadalupe Bolden showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. Carbonero FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Atlético Río Luján to leave the ground with a draw.
