Ceferino Gustau didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Lluterio went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 9th minute, Evaristo Haitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dionisio Ferrando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Hugo Lluterio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ceferino Gustau. Deportivo Residentes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Lluterio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Fenix D's Esteban Fanuco got a free kick in the 16th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Deportivo Residentes's Samuel Martxot tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fenix D's Alfonso Nabar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Fenix D from getting a goal against them. Ceferino Gustau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Lluterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. A collision led to Deportivo Residentes getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Edgard Birjaio hit a great ball. After 24 played minutes Deportivo Residentes got a freekick which was hit by Evaristo Haitz. In the 26th minute, Edgard Birjaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfonso Nabar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Birjaio in the 28th minute of play. Edgard Birjaio hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Ceferino Gustau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Ferrando in the 30th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Evaristo Haitz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alfonso Nabar. Evaristo Haitz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Ceferino Gustau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Ferrando in the 39th minute of the match. Domingo Tolino charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Domingo Tolino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd match minute, Deportivo Residentes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Tolino to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the match, Deportivo Residentes's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Lluterio came free, but Ceferino Gustau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Fenix D's zone, Zeledon Lorenz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Nabar came out of the goal and Zeledon Lorenz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Fenix D's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Birjaio came free, but Alfonso Nabar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Fenix D were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Alfonso Nabar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Tolino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. German Berart kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Alfonso Nabar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Tolino in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Deportivo Residentes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Haitz to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Deportivo Residentes's protests and gave Zeledon Lorenz a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Deportivo Residentes got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Lorenz. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dionisio Ferrando during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Deportivo Residentes booed when Fenix D was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Ferrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Nabar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Tolino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Ceferino Gustau successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Fenix D booed when Deportivo Residentes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Birjaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ceferino Gustau stood somewhat misplaced when Dionisio Ferrando came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 85 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Haitz in the 90th minute of play forced Fenix D's goalkeeper Alfonso Nabar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Tolino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Nabar having to interfere. Alfonso Nabar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgard Birjaio went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The Fenix D supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fenix D would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
