After 23 minutes of play, Nueva chicago's Sixto Giraldo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cipriano Montrell was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Igor Umea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 31st minute, Hilario Veronica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Beltran made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Ramon Alvarez sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Saladillo getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. In the 47th minute, Zacarias Hanot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sixto Giraldo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Nueva chicago's Sixto Giraldo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Inocencio Rojelio kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. With a little luck, Saladillo's Cipriano Montrell got control of the ball when Igor Umea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diego Beltran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Alvarez, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Umea got free with Cipriano Montrell in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Osvaldo Mitxaut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cipriano Montrell having to make a save. Cipriano Montrell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Igor Umea in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the game, Nueva chicago's Osvaldo Mitxaut nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cipriano Montrell made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Saladillo were furious when Lorenzo Escobar was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Saladillo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nueva chicago:s goal. When the match had been going on for 83 minutes, Nueva chicago's Amancio Ledesma got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Cipriano Montrell. 87 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Mitxaut had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cipriano Montrell. Saladillo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Mitxaut was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. When Zacarias Hanot fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nueva chicago's protests and gave Zacarias Hanot a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes Nueva chicago got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Hanot. Inocencio Rojelio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cipriano Montrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Saladillo's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sixto Giraldo 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. The Nueva chicago players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
