In the 7th match minute, Espinillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Abadie to maneuver through the defense. Delmiro Oihan hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Naum Novoselski hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Arturo Bernaldo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tadeo Ikatz's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Per-Oskar Nordgren sped through Boca Juniors's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arturo Bernaldo. Matias Indar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arman Wiberg having to interfere. After 45 minutes of play Espinillo's Celestino Abadie was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Naum Novoselski made the kick off in the second half. Arturo Bernaldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Oskar Nordgren in the 51st minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Matias Indar notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Espinillo's Arman Wiberg. Arman Wiberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Espinillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Loco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per-Oskar Nordgren took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arturo Bernaldo. Arturo Bernaldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Naum Novoselski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tadeo Ikatz's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadeo Ikatz helped the player get up and apologised. Tadeo Ikatz kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Mauricio Oihenarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Oihenarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arman Wiberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naum Novoselski in the 80th minute of the match. In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Boca Juniors. Naum Novoselski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arman Wiberg. 2-2. Mauricio Oihenarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Bernaldo having to interfere. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Espinillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidro Enekoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naum Novoselski hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
