The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pilón AFC's Laureano Mundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Bitxintxo in the 5th minute of play. Rigoberto Quentin hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. When Club atletico Verdolaga's Humberto Bitxintxo in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pilón AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Baldomero Savion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Laureano Mundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laureano Mundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Bitxintxo in the 21st minute of the match. Enrique Sagrario struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Esteve Aritza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pilón AFC. Esteve Aritza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alejo Salbatore's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Alejo Salbatore made the kick off in the second half. Club atletico Verdolaga's Baldomero Savion got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Alejo Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pilón AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alejo Salbatore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteve Aritza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pilón AFC's Enrique Sagrario got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 71 minutes Pilón AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carmelo Izel who took care of the corner kick. 72 minutes into the game, Humberto Bitxintxo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club atletico Verdolaga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pilón AFC the free kick. The supporters of Pilón AFC booed when Club atletico Verdolaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Bitxintxo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Alejo Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pilón AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejo Salbatore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Bitxintxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Mundo having to interfere. The Pilón AFC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Club atletico Verdolaga from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
