In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind RACING1967's goalkeeper Astor Ourente, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Astor Ourente didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaston Abajas went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. RACING1967's Astor Ourente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Abajas in the 7th minute of play. A collision led to Carrodilla getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Epifanio Quinteros hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Carrodilla's zone, Tiburcio Tebaldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armando Ascencio came out of the goal and Tiburcio Tebaldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Carrodilla's goalkeeper Armando Ascencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiburcio Tebaldo. If Tiburcio Tebaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Astor Ourente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Amancio Gaizko rounded Carrodilla's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. RACING1967's Astor Ourente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Abajas in the 30th minute of play. Astor Ourente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Epifanio Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiburcio Tebaldo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Armando Ascencio made a huge save. 37 minutes into the game, Gaston Abajas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Astor Ourente was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gaston Abajas scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Astor Ourente, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Astor Ourente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The referee ignored RACING1967's protests and gave Juan Intxixu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, RACING1967 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Intxixu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Tebaldo in the 69th minute of play forced Carrodilla's goalkeeper Armando Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Honorato Ortle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RACING1967 and the Carrodilla players grew even worse after the yellow card. Honorato Ortle kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. If Feliberto Baristo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. Astor Ourente made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Epifanio Quinteros sent off a good shot on target. Astor Ourente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Abajas in the 79th minute of play. Amancio Gaizko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Armando Ascencio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in RACING1967's zone, Gaston Abajas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Astor Ourente came out of the goal and Gaston Abajas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Simon Brais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Carrodilla's Epifanio Quinteros tried to score from far away in the 94th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
