Hugo Calvino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Tiadoro in the 17th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Wilfredo Maore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Tiadoro in the 22nd minute of play forced Segunda Sur's goalkeeper Hugo Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Tiadoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Calvino having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Jesus Marino put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Hugo Calvino. 31 minutes into the match, Jesus Marino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Calvino. Segunda Sur's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jesus Marino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Hugo Calvino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesus Marino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Jesus Marino notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Segunda Sur's Hugo Calvino. Hugo Calvino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

In the 69th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Cristiano Latorre hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Fernando Gipuzkoa scored 2-3 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabiano Macedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The CHICAGO FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CHICAGO FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
