Segunda Sur's defense didn't have a chance, in the 12th minute, when Rigoberto Mikeldi scored to the left of an out of position Hugo Calvino, making the score, 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Hugo Calvino successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 26th minute, Severiano Matxin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Calvino was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Severiano Matxin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Calvino having to interfere. Nemesio Aimar was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Hugo Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Santos de Nuñez's Severiano Matxin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hugo Calvino. That made the score 4-1 after 36 minutes of play. Hugo Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nemesio Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After some careless play in the Segunda Sur defense, Rigoberto Mikeldi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Calvino. The Segunda Sur fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Calvino should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rigoberto Mikeldi to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Segunda Sur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Baumer to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Los Santos de Nuñez's goalkeeper Gilberto Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Gipuzkoa. 55 minutes into the match, Segunda Sur's goal looked a bit too open when Rigoberto Mikeldi came free, but Hugo Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los Santos de Nuñez's Severiano Matxin got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Nemesio Aimar made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Calvino. Segunda Sur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Severiano Matxin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Hugo Calvino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Los Santos de Nuñez's Rigoberto Mikeldi in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Octavio Orzaize didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Fortun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hugo Calvino. Segunda Sur's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 87th minute, Rigoberto Mikeldi made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Calvino. Segunda Sur's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. 90 minutes into the match, Nemesio Aimar notched a goal, 8-1, to the right of Segunda Sur's Hugo Calvino. Hugo Calvino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hugo Calvino came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Los Santos de Nuñez's Rigoberto Mikeldi. But to his dismay, Rigoberto Mikeldi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-1. Los Santos de Nuñez walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
