Gaspar Geofredo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 9th minute, Evelio Tiadoro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evelio Tiadoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Gaspar Geofredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. San Lorenzo de Haedo's Gaspar Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Tiadoro in the 18th minute of play. When Clodoveo Salomone fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CHICAGO FC's protests and gave Clodoveo Salomone a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Haedo booed when CHICAGO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clodoveo Salomone didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Evelio Tiadoro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CHICAGO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evelio Tiadoro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th match minute, CHICAGO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severiano Perico to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Jesus Marino sped through San Lorenzo de Haedo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gaspar Geofredo. Evelio Tiadoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CHICAGO FC's Jesus Marino got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, San Lorenzo de Haedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casimiro Arias to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, CHICAGO FC's Cristiano Latorre tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Evelio Tiadoro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gaspar Geofredo having to make a save. Evelio Tiadoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaspar Geofredo having to interfere. Evelio Tiadoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th of the match, Evelio Tiadoro tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Gaspar Geofredo got in the way and made a wonderful save. When Godfredo Lauro fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo de Haedo's protests and gave Godfredo Lauro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to San Lorenzo de Haedo getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Godfredo Lauro hit a great ball. Jesus Marino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Gaspar Geofredo made a huge save. Jesus Marinos short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Gaspar Geofredo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jesus Marino struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Gaspar Geofredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CHICAGO FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evelio Tiadoro in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gaspar Geofredo saved San Lorenzo de Haedo from getting behind. Jesus Marino struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Gaspar Geofredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CHICAGO FC. When the match was over CHICAGO FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than San Lorenzo de Haedo throughout the match.
