Lino Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaldo Serafo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When Bonifacio Johans fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melmac FC's protests and gave Bonifacio Johans a yellow card for diving instead. Bonifacio Johans kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Filiberto Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Ceandro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Mazza having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Santa Gilda's zone, Arnaldo Serafo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Mazza came out of the goal and Arnaldo Serafo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leopoldo Ulizes charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leopoldo Ulizes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Deportivo Santa Gilda getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Leopoldo Ulizes hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Ayala made a kick off. When Leopoldo Ulizes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 54 minutes had been played. In the 55th match minute, Deportivo Santa Gilda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Ulizes to maneuver through the defense. Lino Mazza came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Melmac FC's Filiberto Ceandro. But to his dismay, Filiberto Ceandro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 68 minutes into the match, Deportivo Santa Gilda's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Ceandro came free, but Lino Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Serafo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Lino Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Filiberto Ceandro came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Melmac FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filiberto Ceandro couldn't finish the play. Melmac FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Elpidio Gabrio scored to the left of an out of position Melquiades Barea, making the score, 2-1. Deportivo Santa Gilda's Lino Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Bernad in the 96th minute of play. Melmac FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
