Spectators: 7367 (Terracing: 5526, Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 147) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Silvestre Artizar started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Tadeo Mel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ladislao Evangelista did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Iker Iraunkor 10 minutes into the match. Igor Danel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Bieito having to make a save. Silvestre Artizar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Francisco Bieito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With splendid footwork Ladislao Evangelista arrived in front of goal to shoot 3-0 by the left pole in the game's 19th minute. Iker Iraunkor was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Tadeo Mel capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tadeo Mel really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. Igor Danel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Evangelista in the 34th minute of play forced Patricio Rey's goalkeeper Iker Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Independiente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ariel Itzaina in the 36th minute. The corner led Independiente's Ariel Itzaina to fire away a dangerous shot which Iker Iraunkor despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Patricio Rey's Iker Iraunkor got control of the ball when Tadeo Mel tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Danel came free, but Francisco Bieito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Independiente booed when Patricio Rey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Balesio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ladislao Evangelista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iker Iraunkor came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Tadeo Mel. But to his dismay, Tadeo Mel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Tadeo Mel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iker Iraunkor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute Tadeo Mel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Iraunkor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Bieito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igor Danel went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 7-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Tadeo Mel got a free kick in the 64th minute. Iker Iraunkor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Mel, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Igor Danel hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Iker Iraunkor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Mel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Iraunkor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the Independiente players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
