Filiberto Oriol charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filiberto Oriol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Liniers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiberto Oriol to maneuver through the defense. Cayetano Alvarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Gutxi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Toribio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaspar Lain in the 21st minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Erasmo Gutxi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Cordarrol hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes of play Liniers's Filiberto Oriol was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Liniers's Cayetano Alvarez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Liniers from getting a goal against them. Cayetano Alvarez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erasmo Gutxi in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Venancio Uzuri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Socialismo Gatuno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liniers the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Gutxi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Socialismo Gatuno's Fulgencio Milian got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Javier Dalmau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute, Erasmo Gutxi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Socialismo Gatuno fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Liniers's zone, Javier Dalmau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Alvarez came out of the goal and Javier Dalmau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Socialismo Gatuno could leave the field as winners, despite Liniers having more of the ball for most of the match.
