With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abel Vincente in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Dei saved Saavedra from getting behind. Abel Vincente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvestre Nayely kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. A collision led to C. A. INDEPENDIENTE getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Rolando James hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

INDEPENDIENTE's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Vincente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Dei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
