Martin Dei stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremias Gilabert's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After 24 minutes, Jeremias Gilabert made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Saavedra's Martin Dei tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jeremias Gilabert might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Dei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeremias Gilabert ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeremias Gilabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Dei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremias Gilabert in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Dei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martin Dei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victoriano Loreto in the 31st minute of play. Jeremias Gilabert took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martin Dei. Martin Dei dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Gilabert in the 37th minute of play forced Saavedra's goalkeeper Martin Dei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Papo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremias Gilabert in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Dei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 47 minutes, Placido Sabin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mercedes FC and the Saavedra players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Saavedra booed when Mercedes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Placido Sabin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Mercedes FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Jeremias Gilabert did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Martin Dei 54 minutes into the match. Jeremias Gilaberts short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Martin Dei to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Martin Dei made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Victoriano Loreto sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Jeremias Gilabert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercedes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Gilabert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Dei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Victoriano Loreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mercedes FC's Placido Sabin got a free kick in the 80th minute. Jeremias Gilabert who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Martin Dei when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mercedes FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
