Jeremias Gilabert ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeremias Gilaberts short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Jose Manuel Pinto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

If Mauricio Poncio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute Amadeo Ixona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Manuel Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremias Gilabert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Manuel Pinto having to interfere. Jose Manuel Pinto came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Mercedes FC's Victoriano Loreto. But to his dismay, Victoriano Loreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After 63 minutes of play, Mercedes FC's Amadeo Ixona made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jose Manuel Pinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Justo Raymon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hermengildo Paulin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 69 minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Mercedes FC's goalkeeper Justo Raymon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abel Vincente. After 80 minutes, Hermengildo Paulin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C. A. INDEPENDIENTE and the Mercedes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. INDEPENDIENTE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Poncio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. C. A. INDEPENDIENTE walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
