The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Miguel Claus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Albano Jobo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Jeremias Cortez took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Albano Jobo to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Sans Frontieres booed when Deportivo Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Cristos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 10 minutes into the game, Jeremias Cortez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sans Frontieres's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Merlo the free kick. 12 minutes into the game, Miguel Claus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Albano Jobo. Miguel Claus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Tomás Cristos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anibal Bela having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Cortez in the 18th minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Albano Jobo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Claus received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Albano Jobo came out and tried to block the shot, but Miguel Claus slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 21st minute. Fernan Frisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Bela having to interfere. Jeremias Cortez kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 35th minute Fernan Frisco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Bela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Cristos struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Anibal Bela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Merlo. Armando Jenaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Sans Frontieres's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Jenaro came free, but Anibal Bela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Albano Jobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Belmiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Armando Jenaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Merlo's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Jenaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Bela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute, Miguel Claus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albano Jobo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Albano Jobo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Claus in the 84th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Anibal Bela successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Anibal Bela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Cristos, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Deportivo Merlo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sans Frontieres.
