Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Armando Jenaro started the match with the kick off. Fernan Frisco kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Deportivo Merlo's Fernan Frisco got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Gilberto Amato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute Tomás Cristos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 minutes, Serafin Gudesteo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Merlo and the Alpes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Merlo's Serafin Gudesteo got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 14 played minutes Alpes FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Camerino. Luisito Fidensio hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute Fernan Frisco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anier Mendebal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Jenaro in the 33rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Fernan Frisco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Merlo's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernan Frisco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anier Mendebal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Tomás Cristos took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Anier Mendebal to make any attempt to save it. Albano Jobo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Clis in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remigio Clis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Alpes FC's Luisito Fidensio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. After some careless play in the Alpes FC defense, Armando Jenaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anier Mendebal. The Alpes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anier Mendebal should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Remigio Clis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albano Jobo. That made the score 3-3 in the 70 minute of play. Eleuterio Birila took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anier Mendebal. Anier Mendebal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. In the 77th minute Eleuterio Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 played minutes Alpes FC got a freekick which was hit by Santos Regis. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Jenaro in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anier Mendebal saved Alpes FC from getting behind. In the 86thth minute of the game Armando Jenaro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alpes FC's Anier Mendebal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernan Frisco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Mendebal having to interfere. Albano Jobo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luisito Fidensio in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Alpes FC booed when Deportivo Merlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Cristos didn't get a good kick on the ball.
