Joachim Månsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Serafin Fender's late challenge caught a Legionarios's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafin Fender helped the player get up and apologised. After 28 played minutes Inter Miami got a freekick which was hit by Serafin Fender. The audience held their breath when Saverio Diaz in the 30th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Cresenciano Sobrado's left hand side. After having played for 32 minutes, Joachim Månsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter Miami's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joachim Månsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Saverio Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Legionarios's protests and gave Saverio Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. Saverio Diaz hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Marcelo Tiniebra was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joachim Månsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 41 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Amancio Frances fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cresenciano Sobrado having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Joachim Månsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter Miami's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legionarios the free kick. After a rather tough play, Inter Miami's Joachim Månsson got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to Legionarios getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Domingo Umbruso hit a great ball. 62 minutes into the match, Legionarios's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Månsson came free, but Marcelo Tiniebra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Joachim Månsson sped through Legionarios's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra. Joachim Månsson scored 4-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amancio Frances received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Cresenciano Sobrado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amancio Frances's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cresenciano Sobrado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Marcelo Tiniebra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Månsson in the 91st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domingo Umbruso during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Inter Miami booed when Legionarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Umbruso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inter Miami's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
