The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Arnulfo Nicholas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Blas Lluques came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Club Atlético San Miguel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Blas Lluques couldn't finish the play. Tomas Cordera had great luck who in the 8thth minute grab hold of the ball when Lorenzo Baleren from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blas Lluques got free with Tomas Cordera in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Garayalde AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Blas Lluques was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Atlético San Miguel's players had a chance to rest. Arnulfo Nicholas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomas Cordera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Pastor Ekhi hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Blas Lluques might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomas Cordera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blas Lluques ran back to his position shaking his head. After 42 minutes, Pastor Matteo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético San Miguel and the Garayalde AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Garayalde AFC booed when Club Atlético San Miguel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Matteo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Garayalde AFC's Simon Austin tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Garayalde AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Lluques came free, but Tomas Cordera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lorenzo Baleren to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Baleren in the 52nd minute of play forced Garayalde AFC's goalkeeper Tomas Cordera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes Club Atlético San Miguel got a freekick which was hit by Bernabe Maju. In the 57th minute, Vicente Cresconio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Club Atlético San Miguel's Lorenzo Baleren in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garayalde AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Club Atlético San Miguel's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Blas Lluques in the 68th minute. Sergio Abella was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Saul Loreto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 71 minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Garayalde AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Sugoi to maneuver through the defense. After 79 minutes, Vicente Cresconio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garayalde AFC and the Club Atlético San Miguel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lorenzo Baleren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Cordera having to interfere. In the 84th minute, one of Garayalde AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Garayalde AFC. Blas Lluques shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 88th minute, Arnulfo Nicholas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sergio Abella came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Garayalde AFC's Saul Loreto. But to his dismay, Saul Loreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Vicente Cresconio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. After 98 played minutes Garayalde AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Cresconio. Garayalde AFC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Club Atlético San Miguel's much stronger midfield.
