Spectators: 6968 (Terracing: 5468, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Evelio Leguizamón took the kick off in the first half of the match. Urbano Ixidor made in the 3rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ademar Porto however managed to control. Club Atletico Boca Junior's Claudio Domenec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Pirmin in the 8th minute of play. Robustiano Gabino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Claudio Domenec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Robustiano Gabino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudio Domenec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Domenec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Leguizamón in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Pirmin to maneuver through the defense. If Roman Oto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Independiente fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Independiente's Evelio Leguizamón looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Independiente were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roman Oto to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudio Domenec stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evelio Leguizamón's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. In the 61st minute, Ademar Porto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Esteve Afonso kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Boca Junior's Eduardo Salomon got a free kick in the 70th minute. Evelio Leguizamón might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudio Domenec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evelio Leguizamón ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Boca Junior's Joni Maidana got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute, Armando Tanio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Boca Junior's goal looked a bit too open when Robustiano Gabino came free, but Claudio Domenec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Gabino in the 83rd minute of play forced Club Atletico Boca Junior's goalkeeper Claudio Domenec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Independiente's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
