Ubaldo Kepa kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Aureliano Bidari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vélez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aureliano Bidari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Saul Raebert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Ronaldinho da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Visser's goalkeeper Isaias Delfino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rigoberto Teodor. In the 14th match minute, Visser was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Kepa to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Rigoberto Teodor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erubiel Rito got free with Isaias Delfino in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Isaias Delfino made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Rigoberto Teodor sent off a good shot on target. Aquiles Etxahun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Isaias Delfino made a huge save. A collision led to Visser getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Juan Jayvier hit a great ball. After 42 minutes, Omar Rainerio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Visser and the Vélez players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ubaldo Kepa's late challenge caught a Vélez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Vélez booed when Visser was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Sandaili didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rigoberto Teodor in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isaias Delfino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Isaias Delfino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Teodor in the 74th minute of play. Omar Rainerio hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the match, Visser's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Adán came free, but Isaias Delfino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aureliano Bidari recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Vélez players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
