Rosendo Harri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aureliano Bidari in the 17th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the game, Americo Romelio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Progreso de Echu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vélez the free kick. In the 21st minute, Americo Romelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rigoberto Teodor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 22nd playminute. A collision led to Vélez getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. In the 36th match minute, Vélez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ignacio Salamon to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute Guillermo Lluis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rigoberto Teodor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Lino Eyague made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Albino Blasi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute Jorge Adán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Harri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosendo Harri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Etxahun, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Rosendo Harri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Etxahun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Aquiles Etxahun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Harri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Etxahun in the 65th minute of play forced El Progreso de Echu's goalkeeper Rosendo Harri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Aureliano Bidari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rosendo Harri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rosendo Harri came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Vélez's Jorge Adán. But to his dismay, Jorge Adán quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Rosendo Harri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Adán in the 74th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Aureliano Bidari managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vélez's supporters rose to their feet, but Aureliano Bidari was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosendo Harri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lino Eyague's late challenge caught a Vélez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lino Eyague helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes El Progreso de Echu got a freekick which was hit by Lino Eyague. Rosendo Harri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aquiles Etxahun went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score.
