The tension between the Vélez and the Telaritos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Florentino Rolado kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Paulo Rayman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Rigoberto Teodor scored 4-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moises Ovando, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Rayman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vladimiro Rocio during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronaldinho da Rocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vélez were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
