Edgardo Gilesindo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Florian having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Wanda's Eusebio Frantzes got a free kick in the 38th minute. Wanda's Jonas Naelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Avellaneda in the 41st minute of play. Jonas Naelio made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Victor Senio sent off a good shot on target. Casimiro Mano might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laureano Florian. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Casimiro Mano ran back to his position shaking his head. If Edgardo Gilesindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46th minute, Casimiro Mano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Victorio Orain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Casimiro Mano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laureano Florian came out of the goal and Casimiro Mano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute of the match, Edgardo Gilesindo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Laureano Florian was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ovidio Silban hit a great ball. After 67 minutes, Victor Senio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Wanda players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute Victor Senio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Naelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgardo Gilesindo struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Laureano Florian didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wanda. If Victor Senio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laureano Florian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casimiro Mano in the 88th minute of the match. In the 88th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Silban to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Casimiro Mano had to leave the field with a concussion. After 91 minutes, Honorio Jaunti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Wanda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of River Plate:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wanda:s goal. When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, Wanda's Fausto Maureo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Laureano Florian. In the 98th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wanda's goalkeeper Jonas Naelio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
