Filiberto Jaunzuria was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Cipolleti's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pastor Astrada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alumni F.C's Agustin Astigar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Alumni F.C from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Jaunzuria in the 48th minute of play forced Alumni F.C's goalkeeper Agustin Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cipolleti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filiberto Jaunzuria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Filiberto Jaunzuria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pastor Astrada might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agustin Astigar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pastor Astrada ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Pitin got free with Justo Frasco in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
