After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Marcial Pio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catriel's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Pio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Primitivo Eneko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Catriel booed when Pozuelos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Brais didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute Nunez Egoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primitivo Eneko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 35 in the game by Marcial Pio from a close distance when the talented Primitivo Eneko managed to make a qualified save. Pozuelos's players were relieved. Nunez Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Primitivo Eneko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But to his dismay, Marcial Pio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

58 minutes into the game, Nunez Egoi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Primitivo Eneko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Pablo Martxel came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Pozuelos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Martxel couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Pozuelos's zone, Clodoveo Cordaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Primitivo Eneko came out of the goal and Clodoveo Cordaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Primitivo Eneko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nunez Egoi in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Catriel's goalkeeper Armando Argina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximiliano Bastiaro. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clodoveo Cordaro during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 74 played minutes Catriel got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Cordaro. Maximiliano Bastiaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Argina having to interfere. The Catriel supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Pozuelos's performance. The match ended with a win for Pozuelos.
