In the 14th match minute, Potrero Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas Bernabel to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Potrero Futbol Club's Silvio Txeru got a free kick in the 16th minute. The supporters of Potrero Futbol Club booed when Cayastacito AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benicio Menendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Enrique Suero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mariano Katia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Bernabel in the 25th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Feliciano Urdaspal made a precise shot to the right of Mariano Katia. Cayastacito AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. 39 minutes into the game, Blas Bernabel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mariano Katia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Feliciano Urdaspal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Katia having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andy Holm made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Blas Bernabel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Mariano Katia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Urdaspal in the 54th minute of play forced Cayastacito AFC's goalkeeper Mariano Katia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cayastacito AFC's Mariano Katia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Dalmu in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Cayastacito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Bernabel came free, but Mariano Katia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Boruc Gniech fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cayastacito AFC's protests and gave Boruc Gniech a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cayastacito AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Boruc Gniech hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Horacio Dalmu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mariano Katia was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Urdaspal in the 68th minute of play forced Cayastacito AFC's goalkeeper Mariano Katia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Cayastacito AFC defense, Enrique Suero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariano Katia. The Cayastacito AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Katia should have stopped the shot. Enrique Suero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mariano Katia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Bernabel in the 82nd minute of the match. Horacio Dalmu kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Cayastacito AFC's Carlos Lameiras couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Potrero Futbol Club. Enrique Suero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Katia having to interfere. A collision led to Cayastacito AFC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Carlos Lameiras hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Dalmu in the 92nd minute of play forced Cayastacito AFC's goalkeeper Mariano Katia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Potrero Futbol Club players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
