In the 38th minute Didier Pironi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Soin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cosme Esdras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Eliseo Pereyra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huase's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Pereyra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Suarez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cosme Esdras stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Placido Chabier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lanus AC's zone, Cosme Esdras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Suarez came out of the goal and Cosme Esdras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st match minute, Lanus AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didier Pironi to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Cosme Esdras left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huase fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Oscar Suarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Pereyra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the match, Lanus AC's goalkeeper Oscar Suarez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosme Esdras. Emanuel Soin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didier Pironi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didier Pironi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Soin having to interfere. If Sergio Acarreta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Huase's Oscar Suarez threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Pereyra, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Cosme Esdras got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lanus AC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Huase to leave the ground with a draw.
