The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Viktor Földes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Ofelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vinicio Teofilio in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edelmiro Dantae saved Tuizón from getting behind. Vinicio Teofilio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guillermo Elivareo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. In the 43rd match minute, Chovet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Elivareo to maneuver through the defense. The audience held their breath when Romulo Telesforo in the 44th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Viktor Földes's left hand side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Freddy Salvatore made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Domingos Lauren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eulalio Txartiko received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Viktor Földes came out and tried to block the shot, but Eulalio Txartiko slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 53rd minute. Edelmiro Dantae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Arce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ladislao Eder fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chovet's protests and gave Ladislao Eder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th minute, Ladislao Eder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edelmiro Dantae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Hori in the 67th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Freddy Salvatore had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. In the 68th match minute, Chovet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Arce to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Manuel Arce cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Edelmiro Dantae was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 80 played minutes Chovet got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Arce. Jairo Nevada charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jairo Nevada the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tuizón getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Jairo Nevada hit a great ball. The supporters of Chovet booed when Tuizón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Ofelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eriberto Hori had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Chovet getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Domingos Lauren hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Chovet's Domingos Lauren got a free kick in the 96th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Chovet fully deserved thier win.
